….and so am I.
After a LONG hiatus from the blogging biz I’m back to claim my territory again. Sometimes it feels as though blogging takes 5 times longer than you’d expect. It ends up becoming a daunting task for someone that already has so much going on. So my mission is to make smaller and more frequent posts! (Sounds like a good plan, eh?)
We just passed the two year mark in our little hidden farm house and now that we have snow surrounding us it has become even cozier and quiet. The cats are always finding the best bit of quilt or cushion or elbow crook for sleeping. The pup, now almost a year old (!), is already getting cabin fever, but he seems happy with his new bed.
He’s so funny. Everything frightens him or makes him nervous: snow, water, the new bed which oozes cedar goodness; but he loves getting blow dried after a bath. Go figure.
Last weekend I spent over seven hours at a local craft bazaar that I do each year. It’s held in a church gym and the other crafts are usually what you’d expect: aprons, country kitchen decor, beaded jewelry…you know. I shared a table with a very good friend of mine who makes the most wonderful silver jewelry and her son-in-law who makes lovely wood jewelry and other bits out of reclaimed guitar wood. We had lookers but not too many buyers. I only made a third of what I had last year. That’s a hard pill to swallow after spending countless hours and late nights getting prepared.
BUT! There’s hope!
This weekend I’ll be participating in the Crafty Britches Christmas Bazaar and I’m so excited!
This bazaar is juried so that all the items are of primo quality and creativity. The fact that I made it in makes me quite happy. What started out as a simple alternative to black Friday turned into the talk of the town(s). People in Seattle are taking about it too! Hopefully it will be a regular kinda thing.
After that I’m going to take a break for a minute….
Then I’ll audition for something new and become uber-busy again…maybe.
